Hosted by Western Native Voice: Expanding Horizons, the Beyond Survival Youth Conference was the largest youth event to date, bringing together 84 students from schools across Montana, including Two Eagle, Lame Deer, Rocky Boy, Box Elder, Hays-Lodgepole, Lockwood, Billings Senior, Montana Youth Academy Cadets, Big Sandy, Great Falls High, and CMR High School.
The conference featured keynote speaker Chris Romulo, whose powerful journey from a struggling youth in Queens to a champion in life and sport set the tone for resilience and perseverance. Romulo’s story of overcoming adversity and embracing mental toughness resonated deeply with attendees.
Rebekah Jarverys co-organized a fashion show to round out the event, adding a creative and celebratory touch to the experience. This vibrant showcase brought students together, fostering confidence and cultural pride.
The Expanding Horizons Youth Conference was a transformative experience, equipping young minds with the tools, inspiration, and community support needed to move beyond survival toward a thriving future.
